Job summary

Optum is seeking an Associate Finance Director (2370063) to join our FP&A team. This remote-ready role supports the Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis, owning the quarterly forecast and delivering insightful commentary to senior leadership from Lafayette, LA or Eden Prairie, MN.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Finance/Accounting/Economics, 5+ years FP&A or related work, expertise in financial modeling, and travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• 5+ years in FP&A, corporate finance, or related analytical roles.
• Experience with financial modeling and forecasting.
• Excel and financial reporting tools proficiency.
• Willingness to travel domestically up to 10%.
• Ability to work full-time with flexible shifts.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the quarterly forecast model.
• Integrate inputs from partners and historical performance into forecasts.
• Perform variance analysis vs plan, prior forecast, and actuals.
• Improve forecasting methodologies and model structure.
• Gather, validate, and consolidate data for upstream and executive reporting.
• Ensure alignment of metrics across FP&A, Accounting, and operations.
• Prepare financial commentary for forecasts and leadership materials.
• Translate data into clear insights for senior leadership.
• Partner with business leaders to understand drivers of performance.
• Support executive reviews and board materials.
