job summary:
Tatum by Randstad is partnering with a prominent national labor union in their search for a Senior FP&A Consultant who can assist with creating various Excel models for a critical strategic project. The client's finance team is a small, strategic group focused on high-level budgeting, planning, and financial policy for the union.

The organization is currently undertaking a critical strategic initiative to explore a change in monthly membership dues and requires a seasoned Senior FP&A Consultant to provide the robust financial modeling and data-driven analysis needed to guide this crucial decision.

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role where your work will directly impact the strategic direction of the organization and be presented to its Executive Board.

Engagement Details:

  • Start Date: On or around July 1, 2025.
  • Project Duration: Around 3 months going to early October
  • Schedule: Full-time, 35-40 hours per week for the duration of the project.
  • Location: Candidates based in the Denver, CO area who can work a hybrid schedule are preferred. (2-3 days weekly onsite).

responsibilities:
The primary objective of this engagement is to develop comprehensive financial models and revenue projections related to a proposed membership dues change.

  • Financial Modeling: Build several sophisticated, scenario-based financial models in Excel to analyze the financial impact of potential changes to membership dues based on per member, per pay period/month.
  • Revenue Projections: Develop detailed, multi-year revenue forecasts based on various rollout strategies and timelines for the dues changes.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze membership data to understand potential impacts across different segments of the membership base.
  • Presentation & Deliverables: Synthesize complex financial data into clear, concise, and compelling PowerPoint presentations for leadership and the board.
  • Strategic Support: Act as a subject matter expert on financial planning and analysis, providing ad-hoc support to the Director of Finance and the finance team on other strategic projects as needed.

qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A Consultant, or similar role with a strong background in financial modeling.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory. Must be able to build complex, dynamic, and user-friendly financial models from scratch.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint. Demonstrated ability to create professional, executive-ready presentations that clearly communicate financial concepts.
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, manage tight deadlines, and produce high-quality deliverables.
  • Experience working with unions, non-profits, or member-based organizations is a plus, but not required.
  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
