Ares Management Corporation is seeking a Senior Associate to join the New York FP&A team. The role collaborates with stakeholders across lines of business and corporate functions, focusing on reporting, AUM metrics, and financial forecasting.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in investment management, strong Excel/Power BI skills, and experience with fund waterfalls. This role is based in NYC with hybrid expectations and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field; MBA preferred but not required.
• 6+ years of experience in investment management firms with expertise in Investment Operations and Asset Servicing.
• Expert analytical, data management and financial modelling skills using Excel and advanced tech.
• Familiarity with planning applications (Oracle, Hyperion, OneStream, Power BI, Anaplan).

Responsibilities

• Credit Segment reporting support across sub-segment Credit investment groups and business operations.
• Preparation of periodic financial reporting for internal stakeholders.
• Assets Under Management (AUM) and related metrics public reporting.
• Database creation and management in support of enterprise projects – finance and IT.
• Financial modelling to support enterprise-wide financial and strategic decisions.
• Identify and understand business challenges; propose and help create solutions.
• Partner with the finance team to collaborate on metrics, goals, and business reviews.
• Deep dive into financial data to provide anecdotal insights.
• Create presentations that frame decisions and outline action items.
• Work with accounting to research variances to forecast and budget; identify opportunities.
• Develop and maintain relationships with business partners and cross-functional teams.
• Manage consolidation/reporting, budgeting/forecasting, and dashboard/analytics systems.
