Job summary

Mesirow Financial in Chicago seeks a Sr. Analyst in Corporate Services to provide decision-support analytics to senior management. You will enhance budgeting models, build driver-based reports, and collaborate across the firm to improve projected outcomes.

Candidates need a Finance/Accounting degree, 2–3 years in Finance or Accounting, GAAP knowledge, and strong Excel skills. CPA preferred; NetSuite or Axiom EPM experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting required.
• 2–3 years of experience in Finance or Accounting.
• CPA preferred; familiarity with GAAP and consolidation accounting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Enhance and maintain models used in budgeting analysis and financial projections.
• Build reports that demonstrate driver-based analytics to support the financials.
• Collaborate to ensure accurate projections, analysis and identification of risks and opportunities.
• Develop ad-hoc financial metrics and operational efficiency analyses.
• Participate in development of M&A models on new products and/or transactions.
• Drive profitability analysis, process improvements, and quality initiatives.
• Identify trends and prepare commentary analysis of major budget or forecast variances.
• Prepare quarterly financial presentation package for Board of Directors.
• General accounting including P&L review and month end close reporting.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.
