Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of FP&A or corporate finance experience within consumer products.
• Hands-on with Target and Walmart retail accounts.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, modeling, reporting, and variance analysis skills.
• Experience with ERP, planning, BI, or financial reporting systems.
• Ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support the annual budget, forecasts, and long-range planning.
• Build and maintain financial models for income statement, cash flow, and Opex.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly reporting with variance analysis.
• Investigate variances and explain drivers of performance.
• Collaborate with department leaders on budgets and forecast accuracy.
• Analyze revenue, gross margin, OPEX, and KPIs.
• Support profitability analysis by product, customer, channel, and retailer.
• Create scenario analyses for initiatives and strategic decisions.
• Consolidate data from multiple systems for accuracy.
• Create dashboards, management reports, and executive presentations.
• Collaborate with Accounting during month-end close.
• Identify opportunities to improve forecasting, reporting, data integrity, FP&A processes.
• Support ad hoc analyses and special projects for finance leadership.

CV Resources has partnered with a fast-growing consumer products company to identify an experienced Financial Planning Analyst to join its FP&A team. This is a hands-on role for a well-rounded analyst who can connect financial and operational data, explain the story behind the numbers, and turn it into clear recommendations for leadership.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Support the annual budget, periodic forecasts, and long-range planning
• Build and maintain financial models covering the income statement, cash flow, and operating expenses
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages, including budget-to-actual and forecast-to-actual variance analysis
• Investigate variances and clearly explain the drivers of performance
• Partner with department leaders on budgets, spend reviews, and forecast accuracy
• Analyze revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, and key performance indicators
• Support product, customer, channel, and retailer-level profitability analysis
• Build scenario analyses to evaluate business initiatives, investments, and strategic decisions
• Consolidate data from multiple systems and keep reporting accurate and consistent
• Create dashboards, management reports, and executive-level presentations
• Collaborate with Accounting during month-end close
• Identify opportunities to improve forecasting, reporting, data integrity, and FP&A processes
• Support ad hoc analysis and special projects for finance and executive leadership

Must-Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field
• 3–5 years of FP&A or corporate finance experience within CPG (apparel not required; food, cosmetics, and other consumer products backgrounds welcome)
• Current, hands-on experience with Target and Walmart retail accounts
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, reporting, and variance analysis skills
• Experience with ERP, planning, BI, or financial reporting systems
• Ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
