Job summary

Lesueur Inc in Le Sueur, MN is seeking a Simulation Foundry Engineer to coordinate moldflow and solidification analyses, create 3D CAD models, and perform CAE analysis to improve casting performance.

You will use Creo, SolidWorks, SpaceClaim or OnShape for mold designs and Magmasoft/ProCast/EKK for mold flow simulations, with 10% US travel. Bachelor's degree and 5 years foundry experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering or related engineering field.
• 5 years of progressive post bachelor's experience as a simulation engineer in a foundry environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and develop moldflow and solidification analysis.
• Create and update 3D CAD models.
• Perform CAE analysis and participate in the Product Launch process to improve results and performance.
• Support tooling and design department in optimized gating systems for iron, aluminum and steel castings.
• Use CAD technology (Creo, SolidWorks, SpaceClaim or OnShape) to assist with mold designs for tool fabrication.
• Use Magmasoft, ProCast or EKK for mold flow simulation and defect predictions.
• Provide technical input in new product start-up meetings to optimize casting processes.
• Communicate with customers and internal teams using mold flow and solidification analysis to ensure satisfaction.
• Liaise between customer and manufacturing team to resolve questions about mold flow and solidification.
• Conduct R&D utilizing mold flow and solidification software to produce accurate results.
• Validate designs and simulations against actual casting results to improve processes.
• Engineer and design prototype & production tooling for sand and investment casting.
