Job summary

Google is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer in Applied AI, focused on turning conversational prototypes into production-grade agentic systems. You’ll own end-to-end engineering life-cycle and drive customer value at their sites, with high travel and impact on large engagements.

You’ll work within Google Cloud’s Go-To-Market team, leveraging Vertex AI and the Gemini portfolio to solve business problems, while collaborating with DeepMind engineers. Expect competitive compensation and equity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of software development experience with Python or similar languages.
• Experience architecting AI systems on cloud platforms (GCP).
• Experience deploying resources via Terraform to automate setup.
• Experience building full-stack apps interacting with enterprise IT.

Responsibilities

• Lead development for conversational AI and CX apps, moving prototypes to production.
• Architect flows linking Google’s AI products to customer infra and APIs.
• Build eval pipelines and observability for agentic workloads with low latency.
• Identify reusable modules from common patterns and advocate feature requests.
• Co-build with customer teams to ensure long-term success and adoption.
