Job summary

Brown + Kubican, PSC seeks a Forensic Structural Engineer in Lexington, KY to lead investigations, evaluate damaged structures, and design remediation solutions. You’ll collect field data, prepare reports, and develop documents for repairs, working with clients and a team of engineers and drafters in a collaborative environment.

The role emphasizes independent analysis, strong technical writing, and site visits to projects often located in-state, with a preference for seasoned professionals

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in the design of building structures.
• Professional Engineer Registration is required.
• Design skills in reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry, and timber.
• Familiar with applicable design codes.
• Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Independently investigate and gather field data related to structures and conditions.
• Prepare technical reports and construction documents for repairs and remediation.
• Review shop drawings and contractor work during construction.
• Liaise directly with clients and firm Principals.
• Inspect project sites and ensure compliance with design intent and codes.
