Job summary

State of North Carolina - Health & Human Services, Central Regional Hospital in Butner, NC, seeks a Senior Psychologist (NS) to conduct comprehensive pretrial forensic evaluations. Responsibilities include assessments of capacity to proceed and NGRI issues, with collaboration across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Qualifications

• Licensed or eligible for licensure in North Carolina within 30 days of employment and by second sitting for national/state exams.
• Extensive knowledge of age-appropriate psychological testing, psychopathology, and diagnosis.
• Experience with forensic evaluations, including competency to stand trial and NGRI issues.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pretrial forensic evaluations for to-be-tried individuals (outpatients, inpatients, consults).
• Evaluate capacity to proceed and Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity defenses.
• Provide consultation to other hospitals and collaborate with Forensic Services Unit.
