Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) seeks a Psychologist Senior (NS) at Central Regional Hospital to guide treatment initiatives for children, adults, and adolescents. You will conceptualize complex cases, advise staff on behavioral interventions, and coordinate departmental projects and trainings.

Eligibility licensure under NC Psychology Act is required; a 2‑year postdoctoral experience is preferred. Sign-on bonus may be offered; comprehensive state benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Advanced competency in behavioral assessment, including preference and reinforcer assessments and the functional analysis of conditions maintaining problem behavior.
• Competency in the provision of psychological treatment including individual and group psychotherapy and behavioral skills training.
• Knowledge of community resources, institutional policies and state law regarding psychological treatment.
• Theories and practices of psychology including behavior analysis and developmental psychology relevant to mental illness.

Responsibilities

• Assist the PST Director and Department Heads implementing long-range goals for integrated treatment.
• Provide supervision and guidance to staff on de-escalation and behavioral interventions.
• Coordinate with treatment and management teams to improve service provision and communication.
