Job summary

Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (SCC) on McNeil Island seeks a Psychiatrist with experience in paraphilias and personality disorders to join a dedicated team. Duties include psychiatric care, medication management, and release planning within LRA settings in King and Pierce Counties.

Travel to McNeil Island by ferry is required; commute time is not paid. Eligible for benefits and premiums in select conditions.

Qualifications

• Valid license to practice medicine in Washington State and completion of ACGME-approved Psychiatry residency.
• Strong psychopharmacology skills and ability to work collaboratively with other professionals.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine psychiatric care and ongoing evaluations for residents.
• Prescribe and monitor medications and treatments; document progress.
• Ensure psychiatric care is integrated with medical, clinical, and residential services.
• Respond to psychiatric emergencies and provide follow-up care.
• Consult with clinical treatment providers and Residential Program Managers.
• Act as primary licensed provider for seclusion and restraint admissions/discharges.
• Develop and track performance metrics for psychiatric services.
