Job summary

Dallas City Hall seeks a Forensic Services Administrator to lead the Crime Scene Response Section within the Dallas Police Department. You will oversee planning, budgeting, training, and regulatory compliance, ensuring quality and accuracy in forensic operations.

The role requires extensive experience in accredited labs, strong leadership, and the ability to manage large grants while coordinating with multiple agencies and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Forensic Science, Criminal Justice, or Natural Sciences, or related field.
• Nine years of experience as a criminalist in a recognized crime scene laboratory.
• Five years of supervisory/management experience in a crime laboratory/crime scene unit.
• Equivalency options: associate degree with 11 years' experience or master's degree with 7 years' experience including management.

Responsibilities

• Develops procedures to ensure accreditation and regulatory compliance.
• Oversees budgeting and ensures funds for CSRS operations.
• Sets goals and directs performance evaluation.
• Plans staff professional development and training programs.
• Manages grant applications and tracks funding; ensures compliance.
• Represents the Police Department on forensic science issues at legislative or professional bodies.
• Liaises with other agencies on equipment, procurement, and lab safety.
