The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and six years of crime scene investigation experience, with a strong emphasis on leadership, training, and quality control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Forensic Science, Criminal Justice, or Natural Sciences or related field.
• Six (6) years of crime scene investigation and analysis experience.
• Equivalencies: AAS + 8 years; Bachelor's +8; Master's +4.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.
• Must pass intensive background investigation and drug test.
• No Felony or Class A/B Misdemeanor convictions in specified periods.
• Availability for varying shifts; 24/7 call-out.

Responsibilities

• Supervises fingerprinting, lab analysis, and toolmark examining with accuracy.
• Coordinates plans, goals, and standards; ensures quality reporting.
• Manages workload, schedules, and resources; ensures equipment and supplies.
• Conducts performance evaluations and recommends recognitions.
• Coaches staff and identifies training needs; acts as technical advisor.
• Participates in recruiting, interviewing, and overtime decisions.
• Investigates and resolves employee grievances; enforces disciplinary actions.
• Researches methods to improve throughput and efficiency; stays current in forensics.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
