Job summary

Engineering Systems Inc. (ESi) is seeking a senior forensic engineer to lead fire and explosion investigations across industrial and commercial contexts. You will direct field teams, perform rigorous analyses, and prepare expert reports for litigation and settlements.

The role requires substantial experience, PE licensure, and strong communication with legal teams. Occasional travel is expected, with opportunities for professional advancement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field required.
• Master’s degree or Ph.D. preferred.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) required.
• CFEI or CFII preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and coordinates forensic investigations related to fire origin and cause, explosions, and related systems.
• Conducts field investigations of fire and explosion scenes, analyzing evidence and ignition sources.
• Performs engineering analysis applying combustion, thermodynamics, and fire dynamics to support opinions.
• Authors high-quality technical reports and expert opinions on fire origin and related matters.
• Provides expert testimony at deposition and trial.
