Job summary

The Vertex Companies, LLC is seeking a Senior Forensic Engineer to lead investigations of mechanical systems, perform code research, and prepare expert reports for property claims and litigation. You will manage field inspections, develop remediation plans, and ensure timely, quality deliverables for clients.

Qualified candidates have PE licensure and 12+ years (or 8+ with a Master's) with 5+ years in management. Occasional travel is expected as part of client engagement and project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of related experience or Master's with 8+ years, and at least 5 years in a management capacity.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE), with multiple states preferred.
  • Proven track record of independent work product production, communication, and coordination with clients and Supervisors.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technical areas.

Responsibilities

  • Create work product and manage projects; coordinate with team members.
  • Conduct forensic field inspections into the cause and origin of incidents related to residential and commercial property damage and design/contract claims.
  • Research failures in mechanical systems to determine cause and origin; HVAC expertise is a plus.
  • Develop remediation plans with scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Author expert investigative reports for senior management review and client presentation.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by delivering on-time and on-budget outcomes.
  • Provide high-quality work product and professional execution.
  • Support manager in meeting defined utilization targets and budget.
