Job summary

Nike’s NSW Footwear Product Design team seeks a Senior Footwear Designer to shape innovative designs from concept to reality. You will mentor others, collaborate with engineers, researchers, and marketing, and deliver performance-focused footwear for athletes.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in technical footwear design, 3–4 years of footwear development, and mastery of Photoshop/Illustrator. Join a creative, fast-paced environment focused on human potential through sport and fashion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or related field.
• 3–4 years' experience designing and developing footwear.
• Knowledge of form, colour, materials, and human factors.
• Lives at the intersection of sport, fashion, and culture with curiosity for what's next.
• Translate consumer knowledge into product solutions and narratives.
• Experience in technical footwear design.
• Strong Photoshop and Illustrator skills.
• Ability to build accurate 2D tech packs.
• Strong sketching, illustration, and rendering skills.
• Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
• Ability to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions.
• Experience with Keynote, PowerPoint, Acrobat.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a large project team of engineers, researchers, marketing, testing, sustainability, materials, and costing teams.
• Collaborate with the design community, including industrial designers, materials, colour, graphics, and computational designers.
• Mentor other designers.
• Build industry-leading innovative footwear designs from concept to reality.
• Provide athletes with measurable performance benefits through solving problems and iconic design.
• Explore new opportunities and push the possibilities of human potential through footwear.
• Engage with project teammates on research, gaining insights, and problem solving around performance and manufacturing.
• Work with athletes to craft a vast range of creative and appealing solutions that are sustainable and cost-conscious.
• Participate and present work in informal and formal reviews.
• Collaborate with the Senior Director on individual project work.
