Job summary

Brenntag is seeking a Technical Development Manager to drive growth for sensory components and functional ingredients in North American foods. You will partner with producers, work with product managers, and help enter accounts across dairy, meat, and plant-based sectors.

Responsibilities include guiding customer projects, collaborating with application teams, and ensuring successful commercialization. Travel up to 50% regionally; BS/MS in food science and 10+ years’ experience are required.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in food science required.
• Min 10 years’ experience in food product development or technical sales.
• Understanding of unit operations in savory and dairy industries.
• Hands-on experience with applying flavors and colors in food products.

Responsibilities

• Learn partner portfolios and key technical attributes for applications.
• Identify target accounts and plan entry strategies with teams.
• Visit accounts weekly with sales to identify needs at a technical level.
• Suggest best solutions to customers in collaboration with producers.
• Accelerate customer projects with the application team as needed.
• Ensure successful commercialization and post-sale follow-up.
• Attend trainings and extend knowledge to field account managers.
