Job summary

Tropicale Foods, LLC is seeking a Senior Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) Manager to lead the FSQMS, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and customer requirements. They will guide the SQF program, develop documentation, and drive continuous improvement in quality and food safety.

The role requires deep knowledge of SQF, HACCP, and FSMA, with extensive leadership experience and a track record of scientific problem solving and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of experience in food safety and quality assurance, with 6–8 years in a management role.
• In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and quality management systems (HACCP, FSMA, SQF).
• Certification in SQF, HACCP, PCQI (SQF Internal Audit training preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide FSQ leadership, hire, train, and mentor FSQ personnel to build a high-performing team.
• Act as the SQF practitioner with authority to use the SQF code.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute the FSQ strategy in line with regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain FSQA documentation including SOPs, HACCP plans, and quality systems.
• Ensure timely resolution of customer complaints and drive corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Conduct audits (internal, external, supplier) and implement corrective actions for non-conformances.
• Lead root cause analysis and risk assessments; implement preventive controls.
• Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvements in product quality and hygiene.
