Job summary

Walmart is seeking an on-site Maintenance Technician in Houston to perform routine preventive maintenance on food equipment, facilities, and fixtures. You will inspect, clean, and repair gear, document wear, and determine replacements to reduce future repairs.

Responsibilities include major/minor repairs across plumbing, electrical, and material handling systems, diagnosing issues, using blueprints and repair manuals, and coordinating with contractors.

Qualifications

• Vocational or technical certification with 2 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
• 4 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle report.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment following schedules and guidelines.
• Inspect, clean, and repair equipment and fixtures; document wear and replacement needs.
• Operate heavy machinery and power tools safely; perform pre/post operation safety checks.
• Manage work orders, schedules, and contractors; track parts, invoices, and maintenance logs.
• Respond to emergency calls and on-call rotations; report deficiencies and escalate when needed.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and company safety standards.
