The Veterans Benefits Administration in Washington, DC seeks a Senior Supervisory Government Information Specialist to lead Records, FOIA, and Privacy Act programs and to shape departmental policy and governance across VBA's information management functions.

You will manage complex requests, supervise staff, coordinate budget and procurement, ensure compliance, and guide strategic information technology initiatives within a federal agency environment.

Qualifications

  • Specialized experience implementing and managing Records Management, FOIA and Privacy Act programs.
  • Experience in policy development and decision-making for FOIA and Privacy Act compliance.
  • Experience managing program evaluations, reports, and data systems for program status.

Responsibilities

  • Plans staff workload and projects future workloads; adjusts staffing to allocate resources.
  • Implements and manages Records, FOIA and Privacy Act programs and policies.
  • Oversees and coordinates responses to FOIA/Privacy Act requests and related litigation support.
  • Analyzes impact and effectiveness of FOIA/Privacy Act standards and recommends organizational changes.
  • Manages VBA-wide searches for records and documents and oversees budget and resources.
  • Supervises technical business activities supporting VBA Records, FOIA, and Privacy Act programs.
