Job summary

Contact Government Services, LLC (CGS) seeks a Senior FOIA Paralegal to join our legal team supporting a large federal agency. The role centers on legal review and FOIA request processing, with additional litigation support tasks.

Required: paralegal certificate or JD (or ABA law school attendance with at least one year completed). Experience with FOIA, Nuix Investigate, Relativity, and other eDiscovery tools, plus strong written and spoken English.

Qualifications

Paralegal certificate or JD, or ABA law school attendance with at least one year completed.
At least one year of litigation paralegal experience; trial experience is helpful.
Experience with FOIA requests.
Demonstrated FOIA rules knowledge; applying exemptions.
Basic legal knowledge and citations; proficient with research tools.
Strong written and oral communication; proficient with standard software.

Responsibilities

Searches and analyzes result sets to separate non-responsive documents from responsive ones and screen for privilege or FOIA exemptions.
Redact and code responsive documents.
Perform legal research.
Draft legal documents.
Maintain familiarity with ESI tools and FOIA procedures.
Deliver high-quality work under pressure and obtain a government security clearance.
