Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Category Manager for a strategic role in Randburg, Gauteng. The role focuses on driving category growth, shaping strategic direction, and maximizing profitability across a portfolio of FMCG products.

You will analyze market dynamics, consumer insights, and competition to develop compelling category strategies and lead cross-functional teams in a hybrid work setting.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Admin, Commerce or related field; MBA is a strong advantage.
• 7–10 years of progressive category management/related commercial FMCG experience.
• Proven track record in growing FMCG categories and strong retail insight.
• Deep understanding of retail dynamics, shopper behavior and category management.
• Strong analytical skills to translate data into actionable strategies.
• Excellent financial acumen with P&L management experience.
• Superior communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and market data systems (Nielsen/IRI).
• Based in or willing to commute to Randburg, Gauteng with hybrid work.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and implement category strategies to drive sales, market share and profitability.
• Analyze category performance, trends, insights, and competitive activity for growth.
• Manage product portfolio within the category: pricing, assortment, promotions.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Procurement and Operations for plan execution.
• Build relationships with retail partners and identify mutual growth opportunities.
• Lead new product development and innovation within the category.
• Manage the category P&L and meet or exceed financial targets.
• Prepare category reviews and strategic plans for senior management.
• Mentor junior team members and foster high performance.
• Stay updated on best practices and FMCG industry trends.
