Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Principal Fluid Systems Engineer to design, develop and maintain fluid systems for nuclear plants. You will own system requirements, create and update P&ID, and lead piping design with thermal-hydraulic analyses.

The role is hybrid with 2 days/week on-site at Cranberry Township, PA, with relocation not provided. Responsibilities include sizing various equipment, performing fluid analyses, mentoring teams, and coordinating with multiple project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering: Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear.
• Minimum 8 years of applicable experience.
• Experience with MathCad, MATLAB, or VBA.
• Familiarity with testing and testing analysis.
• Ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Develop pump, valve, heat exchanger, HVAC, or other equipment sizing requirements for plant design or modifications.
• Perform steady-state and dynamic fluid network analyses.
• Identify problems and propose solutions to projects and tasks that are assigned.
• Provide mentoring and guidance to engineering personnel in various design and analysis efforts.
• Lead small teams (3-5 people) on projects.
• Communicate nature and status of work performed to appropriate technical lead and management.
• Collaborate with construction, I&C, electrical, and operations project teams with internal and/or external representation.
• Participate in customer, vendor, and regulator meetings to present technical materials and justification of services and product designs.
• Perform work within established scope, budgetary and schedule requirements.
• Identify opportunities for improvement within the group and department, and lead the efforts necessary to implement the determined changes.
