Radiant, an El Segundo, CA-based startup, seeks a Senior Fluid Systems Engineer to own critical Kaleidos fluid systems from design to production. The role covers trade studies, component selection, thermal hydraulics, piping, vendor selection, assembly, and testing, with impact on the first new commercial reactor design in over five decades.

The position requires a Mechanical/Materials/Aeronautical/Civil/Structural engineering degree and 5+ years in fluid systems, with onsite work at the El

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Aeronautical, Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Experience with fluid system architecture design.
• 5+ years of designing, building, and testing fluid systems.
• Knowledge of fluid dynamics and thermodynamics.
• Knowledge of heat exchanger design and analysis methods.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end engineering of fluid systems and components, including compressors, valves, and heat exchangers.
• Perform thermal and fluids analyses to verify performance and ensure structural integrity.
• Conduct trade studies to optimize systems and meet requirements.
• Develop manufacturing/assembly instructions and test plans.
• Create and manage a BOM and source suppliers.
• Own subassembly design, manufacturing, and test schedules.
• Lead risk analysis (FMEA) for subsystems.
• Collaborate with engineers from other disciplines through clear communication.
