Job summary

TransMedics is seeking an Assistant Chief Flight Instructor responsible for delivering high-quality flight instruction and overseeing the flight instructor staff. The role includes certifying training records, conducting proficiency checks, and coordinating scheduling for students, instructors, and aircraft.

You will stay current with regulatory changes, update training materials, and lead meetings with staff and FAA personnel.

Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant aviation experience.
• Previous experience working in a 141 flight school strongly preferred.
• Must be flexible with ability to adapt quickly.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be available for nights, holidays, and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Certifies training records, graduation certificates, stage and final test reports, and student recommendations; conducts each stage and/or final test.
• Conducts initial proficiency checks on flight instructors and annual recurrent proficiency checks per FARs; supervises instructor performance.
• Coordinates scheduling of students, instructors, and aircraft for flight training; monitors student progress.
• Maintains currency with regulatory changes and ensures training materials are current and available.
• Schedules and leads staff meetings; interacts with prospective students, parents, airport officials, and FAA personnel.
• Maintains a high level of productivity in a fast-paced environment and performs other duties as assigned.
• Performs other TransMedics tasks and duties as required.
