Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Senior Flight Software Engineer to design and deliver core flight software for Terran R with emphasis on latency, jitter, and control frequency. You will mentor junior engineers, set engineering standards, and collaborate with GNC, Embedded, and Avionics teams.

You bring 5+ years in production-ready software, expertise in Rust or C++, Linux systems, and strong networking knowledge.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Electrical, Computer, or Aerospace engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of production-grade software experience.
• High-reliability software development experience.
• Expertise in Rust or C++ and Linux networking concepts.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver core flight software with focus on latency, jitter and control frequency.
• Collaborate with GNC to integrate ascent/re-entry algorithms and sensor data (GPS, IMU, Radar).
• Work with Embedded Software and Avionics to integrate vehicle hardware control and telemetry.
• Develop and maintain telemetry, data routing to ground stations and data centers.
• Mentor junior engineers and define team standards, processes, and best practices.
