Relativity Space in Long Beach, CA seeks an experienced Senior Embedded Linux Software Engineer to develop firmware for avionics and rocket systems. You will implement embedded Linux software for network switch and camera platforms, drive system bring-up, and collaborate with hardware, systems, and platform teams to ensure reliable operation at scale.

The role emphasizes high-reliability software, safety-critical expectations, and opportunities to influence the Terran R software stack.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing software for embedded systems.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++.
• Experience developing applications on embedded Linux platforms.
• Experience debugging using tools such as gdb, strace, perf, tcpdump.
• Familiarity with Linux networking and system programming.
• Experience working with cross-compiled systems and build systems.
• Strong debugging skills across hardware and software boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Lead system bring-up and platform integration efforts for new hardware.
• Debug complex issues across the full stack from hardware and kernel to drivers and application layers.
• Contribute to software architecture improvements and maintain high-performance code.
• Support validation, testing, and troubleshooting in lab and field environments.
