Hermeus is seeking a Senior Flight Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement embedded software for advanced aircraft systems in collaboration with hardware and systems teams.

The role emphasizes flight controls, navigation, avionics, and real-time performance, with focus on safety-critical software and regulatory compliance. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in embedded flight software and strong C/C++ expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a related field.
• 5+ years of embedded flight software development experience.
• Proficient in C/C++ and embedded flight software tooling/methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded flight software for aircraft systems (flight control, navigation, communications, avionics).
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure seamless software-hardware integration.
• Write efficient, well-documented code meeting safety and performance requirements.
• Develop software requirements and design documents.
• Participate in code and design reviews to ensure high-quality software.
• Test and debug software to meet specifications and performance targets.
• Work with systems engineers on system-level tests and simulations.
• Contribute to safety-critical software documentation to comply with regulatory standards.
• Stay current with embedded flight software trends and apply in aircraft systems.
• Maintain technical documentation.
