Job summary

Hermeus seeks a Senior Flight Software Engineer to develop and maintain embedded software for their hypersonic aircraft systems. You will work with hardware and systems engineers to design, implement, and verify software for flight control, navigation, and avionics, ensuring safety and performance requirements are met.

You will contribute to safety-critical software and documentation, stay current with industry trends, and collaborate across interdisciplinary teams in a startup environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters in Computer Engineering or related field.
• 1+ years of embedded flight software development experience.
• Proficient in C/C++ and embedded software development tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded flight software for aircraft systems.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers for seamless software/hardware integration.
• Create software requirements, design docs, and perform reviews.
• Test and debug software to meet specifications and performance requirements.
• Develop system-level tests and simulations with systems engineers.
• Contribute to safety-critical software development and documentation.
• Maintain technical documentation and stay updated on trends.
