Job summary

Poseidon Aerospace builds autonomous cargo aircraft capable of carrying two tons over long distances. We seek a Senior Flight Software Engineer to own the architecture and flight-tested code, with substantial C++ work and leadership across the software stack.

You will define interfaces with avionics and GNC, lead design reviews, and mentor other engineers while hands-on coding significant portions of the system for aircraft operations.

Qualifications

B.S. in CS, engineering or related field or equivalent.
5+ years in embedded C/C++ on real-time or safety-critical systems.
Led a flight software subsystem from architecture to fielded operation.
Experience delivering software on hardware integration for a vehicle.

Responsibilities

Own architecture of flight software subsystems including timing and redundancy.
Design and implement deterministic real-time embedded flight software in C++.
Define software requirements and interfaces with avionics, GNC, and flight test; trace to tests.
Lead software integration on aircraft and support ground/flight tests.
Set testing strategy: unit tests, SIl, and HIL.
Mentor other flight software engineers.
