Job summary

Poseidon Aerospace is seeking a Senior Flight Software Engineer to own major portions of the flight software for our autonomous cargo aircraft. You will determine architecture, failure handling, and testing strategies, and contribute a significant portion of the codebase.

You will shape software for avionics, GNC, and flight-test integration, influence coding standards, and mentor other engineers as the company scales its ambitious program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional C/C++ development on embedded, real-time, or safety-critical systems.
• Owned a flight software subsystem from architecture through fielded operation.
• Experience taking software through hardware integration and test on a real vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture of major flight software subsystems, including timing and redundancy.
• Design deterministic, real-time embedded flight software in C++.
• Define software requirements and interfaces with avionics, GNC, and flight test, and trace to tests.
• Lead integration on the aircraft and support ground and flight testing, including travel.
