Fortastra invites a Sr. Thermal & Propulsion Engineer to own the design and implementation of bipropellant propulsion hardware and Thermal Control Systems for flight-ready spacecraft.

You will design, build, and test hardware, from concept to integration, working closely with propulsion and aerospace teams. The role emphasizes hands-on hardware over purely analytical work, requiring practical engineering judgment, collaboration, and a track record of delivering hardware that performs on the

Qualifications

• 5+ years in propulsion and/or thermal-fluid systems for aerospace hardware.
• Hands-on experience designing and developing propulsion hardware, including bipropellant thrusters and feed systems.
• Experience designing Thermal Control Systems for complex aerospace hardware with hardware-centric focus.
• Proficiency with CAD tools for mechanical design and integration; able to work with vendors and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design of bipropellant propulsion hardware and TCS.
• Create detailed CAD models and drawings for propulsion and thermal hardware.
• Define architectures ensuring reliable performance across mission phases.
• Collaborate with systems, structures, avionics, and GNC teams to define interfaces.
• Support test planning and execution for propulsion and thermal systems.
