Job summary

Castelion Corporation in Rio Rancho, NM seeks a Senior GNC Engineer to develop guidance, navigation, and control solutions for long-range hypersonic strike vehicles. You’ll design, analyze, implement, and validate control and autopilot algorithms in a fast-paced, hardware-driven environment.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams on real-time embedded systems, contribute to model-based development, and mentor peers while supporting mission-critical performance across flight phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of control system design, analysis, and validation for high-performance dynamics.
• Strong background in classical and modern control theory (adaptive, nonlinear, robust).
• Experience developing autopilot algorithms for missiles/rockets/hypersonic vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop flight control and autopilot algorithms for high-speed flight vehicles across regimes.
• Develop and implement adaptive and robust control strategies for uncertain conditions.
• Conduct modeling, simulation, and analysis (3DOF/6DOF) to assess stability and performance.
• Collaborate with avionics, flight sciences, mechanics, and software teams to integrate algorithms in real-time systems.
• Support hardware-in-the-loop testing, flight testing, and post-flight analysis for improvements.
• Analyze vehicle dynamics, actuator behavior, and sensor characteristics for design/tuning.
• Develop tools and frameworks for control design, verification, and validation.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices in GNC.
