Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in printing is desired.
• High school diploma / GED / or equivalent required.
• Basic mathematical skills including fractions and decimals.
• Strong work ethic, time management and troubleshooting skills, detail oriented.
• Ability to monitor processes and judge quality through inspection.
• Independent worker with planning/organization, problem solving and decision-making.
• Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of people.

Responsibilities

• Reposition printing plates, adjust pressure rolls, or adjust machines to improve print quality.
• Inspect printed products for clarity, color accuracy, conformance to specifications, and defects using test methods and equipment.
• Examine job orders for quantities, production times, stock specs, colors and color sequences.
• Select and install printing plates, dies and cylinders per specifications.
• Monitor printing processes to maintain operating levels and detect malfunctions; make adjustments.
• Operate equipment at required speed to ensure ink coverage, alignment and registration.
• Load, position and adjust unprinted materials on equipment.
• Maintain ink levels and additives; measure and adjust for color and viscosity.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
