Job summary

Hart in Tampa is seeking a Senior Fleet Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain our transit fleet. You will mentor junior technicians, support Master Technicians, and help improve maintenance processes while adhering to safety regulations.

The role requires hands-on expertise with gasoline, diesel, and alternative fuel systems, and you must pass a competency test. CDL with a P endorsement must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. certificate required.
• Certificate and six (6) months of vocational training.
• Two (2) years of experience in the servicing, maintenance, and repair of varied automotive equipment.
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex diagnostics and repairs on transit buses and vehicles, including gasoline, diesel, and alternative fuel systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electronic control modules, emissions systems, high-voltage components, and alternative fuel technologies.
• Use advanced diagnostic tools to detect and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections to meet safety and operational standards.
• Collaborate with Master Technicians, Foremen, Service Writers, and Fleet Managers to address recurring failures.
• Train and mentor Fleet Technicians on best practices.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT guidelines.
• Maintain documentation of maintenance tasks and parts usage.
