Job summary

City of Leesburg's Fleet Management division seeks an experienced leader to oversee municipal vehicle maintenance, procurement, and program administration.

You will direct staff, develop safety policies, manage budgets, and coordinate with other departments while ensuring service levels and compliance with city policies. This role requires strong supervisory skills and a strategic approach to fleet operations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Automotive Engineering, Automotive Technology, Business Management or related discipline preferred.
• Eight or more years of experience in an automotive fleet environment with a minimum of four years as a supervisor or manager in a fleet environment.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Performs supervisory work involving policy and guidelines, solving both people and work related problems.
• Reads technical instructions, procedures manuals, and charts to solve practical problems; composes routine and specialized reports, forms and letters.

Responsibilities

• Directs the Fleet division operations, coordinating with city departments and staff.
• Develops and submits bid specifications for vehicle and equipment purchases.
• Plans and implements fleet maintenance, repair, and replacement programs.
• Develops and enforces safety policies and operating procedures; manages budgets and performance metrics.
• Supervises staff, including hiring, training, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
