Job summary

Knight Const. & Supply, Inc. is seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to perform diagnostic, repair, and preventive maintenance on diesel and heavy equipment at our Deer Park, WA location. You will diagnose systems, use diagnostic tools, estimate repair costs, and maintain maintenance logs.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of diesel/heavy equipment experience, a Class A CDL preferred, and familiarity with cranes or lifts. Safety compliance and teamwork are essential in our family‑owned company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in diesel technology or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic.
• Valid commercial driver's license (Class A) preferred.
• Air brake-related training or demonstrable experience preferred.
• Experience with cranes and boom/scissor lifts preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT inspection criteria (FMCSR) preferred.
• Ability to read manuals, schematics and specs.
• Safety compliance and use of office software tools.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems on diesel/gas engines and heavy equipment.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot engine malfunctions and maintain tools.
• Determine scope and cost of repairs and scheduling.
• Perform routine maintenance and log records.
• Utilize Tenna to schedule preventive maintenance and update requests.
• Respond to emergency service calls and locate vendors as needed.
• Requisition parts and supplies and interpret manuals/schematics.
