Town of Kernersville (NC) seeks a skilled automotive technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair gasoline and diesel equipment including heavy machinery. You will work under supervision to diagnose drive trains, brakes, electrical systems, and hydraulics, and perform welding and fabrication as needed.

Responsibilities include on/off-site service, preventative maintenance, and maintaining safety practices. NC CDL with FMCSA clearance and related certifications are required, with EPA/ODB and

Qualifications

• High school diploma with formal specialized training in automotive and/or diesel mechanics.
• Two years of experience in mechanical work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• NC Class B CDL with FMCSA clearance and related certifications.

Responsabilités

• Inspect, diagnose and repair gasoline and diesel powered light and heavy equipment.
• Diagnose drive train components, brakes, steering, and hydraulic systems.
• Perform electrical, ignition, and computer system diagnostics and repairs.
• Repair air conditioning, engine, and emission control systems; perform PM tasks.
• Operate shop equipment including hoists, welders, and diagnostic tools; fabricate parts as needed.
• Perform on- and off-site service calls and maintain shop/workspace safety standards.
