Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America is seeking an experienced Truck/Trailer Mechanic to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to keep our fleet in top condition at the Austin, TX facility.

You will inspect brakes, transmissions, steering, and other systems, use diagnostic equipment, follow DOT regulations, maintain documentation, and mentor junior mechanics in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment. Strong communication and problem solving are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–4 years of mechanic/maintenance experience preferred.
• Certifications/licensing may be required (mechanic, CDL, refrigeration).

Responsibilities

• Perform basic to moderately difficult vehicle and preventive maintenance, component replacements, and repairs
• Maintain, repair, inspect, and/or replace brakes, steering, springs, tires, transmissions, and related components
• Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic equipment
• Complete work orders and paperwork accurately, per SOPs
• Interact with drivers to determine nature of issues and communicate findings
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized work area and comply with DOT/safety guidelines
• Assist and mentor less experienced mechanics
