TruGreen is seeking a maintenance technician to perform scheduled and preventative maintenance on production equipment and fleet vehicles. You will diagnose and repair chassis, back-end systems, and specialized equipment, while documenting all work in our maintenance system.

The role emphasizes independence and teamwork, with responsibilities ranging from parts management to vendor coordination and budget handling. English fluency is required, and a valid driver's license is essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and 5 years automotive mechanic experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • ASE Certification and/or completion of Automotive Technology Program from a certified school required.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses and repairs fleet vehicle chassis and specialized vehicle back-end tank, pump and spray systems.
  • Diagnoses and repairs tractors, forklifts, small engines and specialized equipment (aerators, seeders, spreaders, etc.).
  • Document repairs in an electronic maintenance management system.
  • Maintain parts inventory and keep work area clean and orderly.
  • Arrange, follow up and document outsourced maintenance by vendors and local service providers.
  • Develop and execute preventative maintenance programs.
  • Prepare and manage maintenance budget.
  • Respond to vehicle and equipment breakdowns in field as needed/required.

Position Overview

Performs scheduled and preventative maintenance to production equipment, fleet vehicles and specialized equipment. Repairs equipment and orders parts as necessary. Maintains service/repair records.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnoses and repairs fleet vehicle chassis and specialized vehicle back-end tank, pump and spray systems.

Education and Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 5 years automotive mechanic experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • ASE Certification and/or successful completion of an Automotive Technology Program from a certified school required.

  • Ability to operate independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Mathematical skills to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Attention to detail.

  • Time management and organizational skills, including punctuality for on-time attendance.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
  • Regularly required to: Sit, stand and walk; Use hands and arms to handle, feel or reach; Speak and hear; Use close vision abilities; Operate a vehicle with a valid drivers license.
  • Occasionally required to: Lift or move up to 50 lbs; Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Pay Ranges

$48,109.00 - $80,182.00

This range is based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate’s skills, experience, and geographic location, the expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the pay range. The upper end of the range will generally be reserved for candidates with extensive experience. An employee’s pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law.
