Job summary

TruGreen is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to service production equipment and fleet vehicles at our Alcoa, Tennessee location. You will diagnose, repair, and document work on chassis, pumps, and spray systems, while managing parts and performing preventive maintenance programs.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with 5 years of automotive mechanic experience, ASE certification, and the ability to work independently or within a team.

  • Diagnoses and repairs fleet vehicle chassis and back-end systems.
  • Repair tractors, forklifts, small engines and specialized equipment.
  • Document all repairs in an electronic maintenance management system.
  • Maintain parts inventory and organize the work area.
  • Develops and executes preventive maintenance programs; manage budget.

Position Overview

Performs scheduled and preventative maintenance to production equipment, fleet vehicles and specialized equipment. Repairs equipment and orders parts as necessary. Maintains service/repair records.

Responsibilities

Diagnoses and repairs fleet vehicle chassis and specialized vehicle back-end tank, pump and spray systems. Diagnoses and repairs tractors, forklifts, small engines and specialized equipment (aerators, seeders, spreaders, etc.). Responsible for accurately documenting all repairs in an electronic maintenance management system. Maintain parts inventory and work area in clean and orderly fashion Arranges, follows up and documents outsourced maintenance performed by vendors and local service providers Develops and executes preventative maintenance programs Prepares and manages maintenance budget Responds to vehicle and equipment breakdowns in field as needed/required.

Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 5 years automotive mechanic experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience ASE Certification and/or successful completion of an Automotive Technology Program from a certified school required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to operate independently and collaboratively within a team. Computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer, etc.) Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Mathematical skills to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Attention to detail. Verbal and written communication skills. Time management and organizational skills, including punctuality for on-time attendance.

Pay Ranges

$43,528.00 - $72,546.00 This range is based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate’s skills, experience, and geographic location, the expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the pay range. The upper end of the range will generally be reserved for candidates with extensive experience. An employee’s pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law. In addition to monetary compensation, we offer benefits, including Medical/Dental/Vision insurance and Company-matching 401(k) in addition to other programs and perks.
