Job summary

TRUGREEN is seeking a qualified maintenance technician to perform scheduled and preventative maintenance on production equipment and fleet vehicles at our Alcoa, TN site. You will diagnose and repair systems, document work in an electronic system, and manage part inventory with attention to detail.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and 5 years of automotive mechanic experience; ASE certification or automotive tech training is required.

Qualifications

  • ASE Certification and/or completion of an Automotive Technology program.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Proficiency with MS Office for maintenance records and budgeting.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses and repairs fleet chassis, back-end tank, pump and spray systems.
  • Maintains electronic maintenance records and parts inventory.
  • Manages outsourced maintenance and preventative programs.
  • Prepares and manages maintenance budget and responds to breakdowns.

Repairs equipment and orders parts as necessary. Maintains service/repair records.ResponsibilitiesDiagnoses and repairs fleet vehicle chassis and specialized vehicle back-end tank, pump and spray systems.Diagnoses and repairs tractors, forklifts, small engines and specialized equipment (aerators, seeders, spreaders, etc.)Responsible for accurately documenting all repairs in an electronic maintenance management system.Maintain parts inventory and work area in clean and orderly fashionArranges, follows up and documents outsourced maintenance performed by vendors and local service providersDevelops and executes preventative maintenance programsPrepares and manages maintenance budgetResponds to vehicle and equipment breakdowns in field as needed/requiredEducation and Experience RequirementsHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 5 years automotive mechanic experience required or equivalent combination of education and experienceASE Certification and/or successful completion of an Automotive Technology Program from a certified school requiredKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to operate independently and collaboratively within a team.Computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer, etc.)Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate’s skills, experience, and geographic location, the expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the pay range. The upper end of the range will generally be reserved for candidates with extensive experience.
