Oklahoma State Government seeks a Fleet Specialist V for the Consolidated Vehicle Fleet within the Department of Corrections. This on-site role oversees maintenance and repair of a diversified vehicle fleet, supervises staff, and ensures efficient operation of the repair facility at Red Rock Correctional Center.

The position requires extensive mechanical expertise, strong budgeting and planning skills, and the ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical staff.

Qualifikationen

• Six years of experience in automobile, truck, or heavy equipment maintenance.
• Ability to supervise a fleet repair facility and manage staff.
• Knowledge of budget planning and equipment specifications.
• Proficiency communicating with non-technical personnel.
• Some positions may require a valid Oklahoma driver’s license / CDL.

Aufgaben

• Perform major and minor preventive maintenance and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic problems using diagnostic tools and welding equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and complete required paperwork.
• Order parts and manage inventory to sustain fleet operations.
• Explain technical diagnoses and repairs to non-mechanical personnel and provide roadside assistance as needed.
• Supervise a repair facility and train staff; plan and direct repair operations.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate fleet repair facility activities; prepare project schedules and ensure equipment availability.
• Perform transportation planning and evaluate fleet service levels and budgets; recommend acquisitions or reallocations.
• Research and propose equipment purchases or replacements based on fleet needs and budget.
• Manage unit budgets including operating requirements and parts purchases.
