Job summary

McHale Landscape Design, Inc. is seeking a skilled auto and diesel mechanic to support our shop under the Shop Manager. The role covers preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on gas and diesel vehicles, heavy trucks, trailers, and small engines.

Responsibilities include repairs, PM services, DOT inspections, after-hours on-road support, and accurate repair documentation. Candidates must have 5+ years of experience, a clean driver’s license, and the ability to work outdoors in varied

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience as auto/heavy duty diesel and small engine mechanic
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• DOT Medical Certification
• Highly motivated, self-driven, and detailed oriented
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Time management and organizational skills
• Professional in appearance and actions
• Punctual and dependable with a can-do attitude
• Ability to independently and within a team
• Ability to work effectively with individuals of differing backgrounds, knowledge, and skill levels
• Bilingual (Spanish) a plus, not required

Responsibilities

• Repair heavy-duty diesel trucks and tractor-trailers
• Repair trailers
• Repair heavy equipment
• Repair diesel and gas light/medium-duty trucks, pickup trucks, vans, and cars
• Repair small equipment including mowers, string trimmers, blowers, etc.
• Thorough and accurate diagnostic skill (electrical/mechanical)
• Perform PM services and DOT inspections
• Provide accurate repair order documentation
• If applicable, welding as needed
• On the Road Technician (including after hours, as needed)
• Must be available to work during all-weather events
