Old River is seeking a skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

The ideal candidate will perform engine, transmission, and hydraulic repairs, conduct DOT inspections, and maintain thorough documentation while continually updating skills through manufacturer-sponsored training. Safety and quality service are emphasized.

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy duty trucks. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Heavy Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnostics and troubleshooting: Use diagnostic software and tools to identify the root cause of mechanical and electrical problems in heavy-duty trucks.
• Repairs: Perform repairs on major components, such as engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems, as well as more routine maintenance.
• Maintenance: Conduct scheduled maintenance, perform technical inspections, and complete DOT inspections.
• Documentation: Accurately document all work performed on repair orders, including parts used and labor involved.
• Training: Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training to stay current with new technologies and repair techniques.
• Safety: Maintain a clean and safe workspace and follow all safety protocols.

• Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, and other heavy-duty vehicle components.
