Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Fixed Asset Accountant to oversee the accounting and management of fixed assets, including capital project costs, construction-in-progress (CIP) accounting, and fixed asset capitalization. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of US GAAP, as well as proficiency in Coupa and D365 (Dynamics 365). This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of fixed asset accounting processes while collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize efficiency. This is an in office, 5 day per week role.

Key Responsibilities

• Capital Project Accounting:
• Monitor and track capital project costs, ensuring proper allocation and classification.
• Collaborate with project managers to review budgets, actuals, and forecasts for capital projects.
• Construction-in-Progress (CIP) Accounting:
• Maintain accurate CIP balances, ensuring timely transfers to fixed assets upon project completion.
• Review and reconcile CIP accounts to ensure compliance with US GAAP.
• Fixed Asset Capitalization and Management:
• Oversee the capitalization of fixed assets, ensuring accurate recording of asset acquisition, transfers, and disposals.
• Perform monthly and annual fixed asset roll-forwards and depreciation calculations.
• Conduct periodic fixed asset audits to ensure data accuracy and physical asset verification.
• Compliance and Reporting:
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement disclosures related to fixed assets.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, company policies, and external audit requirements.
• Systems and Process Optimization:
• Utilize Coupa and D365 systems for fixed asset and project accounting tasks.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in fixed asset accounting or a similar role.
• Proficiency in US GAAP, with a strong focus on capital project and fixed asset accounting.
• Hands-on experience with Coupa and Dynamics 365 (D365).
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments.
