Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Fisheries (Passage) Engineer to support water resources, dams and hydropower projects, based in Bellevue, WA or Portland, OR with a hybrid schedule. You will lead technical delivery, serve as a resource, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design fish passage and screening at water intakes, dams, and hydropower facilities.

The role requires 10+ years of experience, a PE license or ability to obtain, and strong leadership, communication, and client

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years of professional experience in fish passage and screening engineering for water resources.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration in WA, OR, ID, or CA or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Senior Technical Resource and Engineer of Record for fish passage and screening infrastructure for water resources, dams and hydropower projects.
• Lead and/or review projects to ensure on-time delivery, technical quality, and within budget.
• Provide SME and technical advisory leadership for fisheries infrastructure for water resources, dams and hydropower projects.
• Mentor developing professionals to guide their execution of work and career development objectives.
• Manage and/or review team’s work and provide technical guidance on design approaches and challenges.
• Perform quality management on technically complex projects and act as a technical resource for the team.
