Job summary

Ampere Computing is seeking a visionary Firmware/Software Test & Validation Architect to define and drive the test strategy for its Arm-based reference platforms. You will lead end-to-end validation across firmware, software, and AI workloads post-silicon, ensuring robust quality and customer enablement.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in embedded software/firmware test, verification, or validation.
• 3-5 years in an Architect/Lead role defining strategy.
• Deep expertise in architecting test/validation strategies for complex SoC/hardware.
• Proven experience with HIL/SIL simulation environments for embedded systems.
• Expertise in test automation frameworks (Robot Framework, pytest), Python scripting, and CI/CD integration.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems, Linux/RTOS drivers/environments, and ARM-based architecture.
• Knowledge of I2C, I3C, PCIe, SPI, Ethernet, MCTP/PLDM, etc.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to learn and explore new technical frontiers.

Responsibilities

• Define the overarching test/validation strategy and roadmap for Firmware, Software, System, and Reference layers.
• Architect end-to-end test infrastructure, frameworks, and automated testing across all firmware/software layers.
• Drive integration of Continuous Testing pipelines for all test phases.
• Define Fault Injection Testing methodologies (HW-assisted, SW-based).
• Specify requirements for execution time/latency analysis of time-critical components.
• Design simulation/emulation/virtual platform environments for embedded firmware/software.
• Define AI regression and performance benchmarking with KPIs (latency, throughput, power per TOPS).
• Develop test data management strategy including synthetic data generation and replay for AI models.
• Mentor Firmware Verification, Software Verification, System Integration & Test, and Solution Validation teams.
• Drive selection/adoption of industry-leading test tools and methodologies.
• Collaborate with Hardware, Firmware, Software, and Product teams to align test strategies with requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement in test methodologies, automation, and QA processes.
• Document test plans, results, and architectural decisions; contribute to customer-facing docs/SDKs.
