Job summary

Ampere Computing is seeking a visionary Firmware/Software Test & Validation Architect to define and guide the test strategy for its Arm-based reference platforms. You will lead the creation of robust validation for firmware, drivers, OS, AI runtimes, and applications post-silicon, ensuring tight hardware-software co-verification and customer enablement.

You will architect scalable test infrastructure, drive CT pipelines, and mentor cross-functional teams, delivering comprehensive plans and KPIs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive embedded software/firmware test, verification, or validation.
• 3–5 years in Architect/Lead role defining strategy.
• Deep expertise in architecting test and validation strategies for complex SoC/hardware.
• Proven experience with HIL/SIL simulation environments for embedded systems.
• Expertise in test automation frameworks (Robot Framework, pytest).
• Scripting in Python and CI/CD pipeline integration (Jenkins, GitLab/GitHub runners).
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems, Linux/RTOS drivers, Arm-based architecture.
• Knowledge of I2C, I3C, PCIe, SPI, Ethernet, MCTP/PLDM standards.

Responsibilities

• Define overarching test & validation strategy and roadmap for Firmware, Software, System, and Reference Solution layers.
• Architect end-to-end test infrastructure and automation frameworks.
• Drive integration of Continuous Testing pipelines across test phases.
• Define methodologies for Fault Injection Testing (FIT) for validation.
• Specify execution time/latency analysis for time-critical software components.
• Design simulation/emulation/virtual platform environments for embedded firmware/software.
• Lead automated AI regression and performance benchmarking with KPIs.
• Develop test data management including synthetic data generation.
• Mentor Firmware Verification, Software Verification, System Integration & Test teams.
• Adopt industry-leading test tools, simulators, and methodologies.
• Collaborate with Hardware Design, Firmware, Software, and Product teams.
• Drive continuous improvement of test methodologies and QA processes.
• Document test plans, results, and architectural decisions.
• Create customer-facing docs and SDK examples for testing/validation on reference platform.
