Job summary

Inogen seeks a Technical Lead - Firmware and Product Security (Level 5) in Plano, TX to own security architecture for embedded firmware in connected medical devices. You will lead design, verification, and lifecycle security, mentoring engineers and driving secure product development across disciplines.

You will guide threat modeling, secure boot, authentication, cryptography, and secure updates while partnering with Quality, Regulatory, and InfoSec to ensure compliant, safe releases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years embedded software/firmware with architecture leadership.
• Advanced proficiency in C/C++ and RTOS concepts.
• Experience leading firmware architecture from requirements to release.

Responsibilities

• Own technical vision and roadmap for embedded firmware and product security.
• Lead firmware architecture, requirements, design reviews, and releases.
• Establish secure-by-design practices: threat modeling, risk assessment, secure boot, crypto.
• Translate needs into firmware requirements and testable acceptance criteria.
• Provide hands-on leadership in C/C++, RTOS, drivers, bootloaders, and connectivity.
• Drive engineering discipline: code standards, reviews, tests, CI/CD, and defect prevention.
• Lead investigations and root-cause analyses for firmware and security issues.
